BIOLOGY

Biology is a science which is constantly evolving and occupies a significant place in our daily lives. It is important for all citizens to clearly understand questions of biodiversity and biotechnology which require a basic knowledge of biology, particularly bioethics. Biology occupies an important position in Vanuatu’s National curriculum because it has direct applications in professional fields such as the medical, food industry and food nutrition fields. Biology is a discipline that relates to problems in contemporary society as indicated in the various program headings. Its many links with other educational objectives (e.g. heath and environment) will be highlighted as often as possible.
